Moose Firsts took on Stoke Gifford who had a similarly impressive record before the game. While Moose began the game playing well on the ball we struggled to match Stoke Gifford's aggression in duels in the first half. They scored a good early goal and then as Moose grew into the game at half time grabbed a lucky second on the break MEANING WE WENT INTO half time 2-0 down.
In the second half we came out with renewed purpose AND WITH THE CHAIRMAN WATCHING THE SECOND HALF, MOOSE penned Stoke Gifford in to their own half. With the pressure staring to show they gave away a penalty for a shirt pull on Ciaran Dougherty. Ciaran tucked away the penalty to make it 2-1. The momentum had swung toward Moose. After some relentless pressure we won a corner. It was cleared out. Paul Turner got it under control and passed it to Seb Edwards. Seb, excellent throughout the game, gathered the ball before hitting a spectacular half volley into the top corner.
At 2-2 we had the game to win, however, when Nate Godwin went to contest a head their full back clashed heads with him and this led to Nate needing to be taken to hospital (he's fine now and was very brave). Unfortunately, the stoppage allowed Stoke Gifford to reset and they escaped Lockleaze with a point.
