It was time for another cup game for AC Moose reserves they took to the pitch against E5 Lions in a bottle between lion and Moose.
Moose had a funny old team out including a debut for the probably the best chairman in the world Zac Schroder in goal as Paul from the first team was injured. Rhys was still recovering from a cut to his head and Zora was nowhere to be found.
Before the game there was a slight tactical adjustment by AC Moose as they decided to lineup for the first time ever with three at the back. How very sacrilegious
The game started off with Moose on top Continuing their fine cup form. Unfortunately with these attacks we were unable to find the back of the net
Roundabout the 25th minute the ball bounced through to the E5 Lions attacker and he was able to slot it past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net to give E5 lions the lead
The Meese did not drop their heads and attack after attack kept peppering the E5 Lions box until the ball fell to Marley Bates on the edge of a box and he curled it into the back of the net for his first moose goal
The rest of the first half was a bit dull let’s be honest however there was a yellow card for Ash tipper after a studs up challenge which to be honest was extremely clean with Ash winning 100% of the ball. The E5 Lions player was rolling around on the floor as Ash got the yellow. You could even hear the wise words of Sean Mark Dyche as the card came out of the refs pocket.
At Half time Moose were raised by a passionate speech from Scott Johnson, surprising I know, as he urged the Moose to keep it up and carry on attacking
Moose started the second half exactly how we finished the first, on top and dominating the lions. As if our Moose Hooves were on the Lions ManE
Moose got their reward for the constant pressure as the ball fell to Marley Bates on the edge of the box and no word of lie. He rainbow flicked it over the E5 Lions defender and crossed it into the box with Scott Johnson attempting to shoot however he missed kicked down and it felt to Harry Wicks at the back post and he slotted it home to make the score 2-1
With the time ticking down there was a slight scare from an E5 Lions corner as Louis Beresford headed ball against his own post with the keeper looking stunned
With five minutes left on the clock and a classic bit of shithousery timewasting by AC Moose they got the win and they are through to the next round of the GFA primary cup
